Missing

I look around, confused.
My world is full, and yet,
I feel the missing piece.
I look around,
I look inside,
Then sigh and move on.

I wake at night,
My arms outstretched,
But I cannot remember
Why.
I curl and cry,
With unbearable ache,
At the part of myself
Missing.

I search
Inside
And Out,
When suddenly, I know.
My arms miss your body.
My eyes miss your gaze.
Without you I am incomplete.
My heart begins to fail.
My friend, my confidante,
One half of my soul.

Come back, come back!
You’ve been too long
Gone,
Away,
Missing.
